Hello! After getting sidetracked with the Holiday blog, my Minecraft Review is finally here!
But to review this game, one must explain what is Minecraft. That will take quite a bit of words to do. So sit back, get your chips, and read on!
Minecraft is a game that has been developed as a computer game since 2009. It has only just reached the full version, which was celebrated at a convention callled Minecon. Created by Markus Perrson, nicknamed “Notch”, It has sold over 4,000,000 copies and over 17,000,000 people have made an account. There are two versions of the game to play. Classic and Full Minecraft. Classic was the first version of the game, which many key elements that make Full Minecraft so great, are not there. It is not updated, but is free to play. Full Minecraft is the actual Minecraft. It has crafting, hunger, weapons, and many more things that Classic doesn’t have. You have to buy Full Minecraft, but it’s loads more fun than Classic.
Minecraft has only one goal: nothing. Thats why this is such a great game. It gives the player creative freedom and you can set your own goals. You want to build a great castle. Go do it! You want to explore a cave? Go for it! You want to explore the wilderness around you? Go do it. The game never ends, so you can do almost anything, whenever you want! That’s why this game is so special out of all the games in the internet! If your wondering what I’m talking about with all the crafting and building, that is what I’ll explain next.
When you create a world, you end up spawning into the wilderness. You have a day, which is about ten minutes, to build a house out of the resources around you. For example, wood, stone, sand, etc. There are tools you must craft that can do some stuff better than your fist, which you start off with. A sword is used to kill animals easier. Shovels dig up dirt alot faster than your hand, axes can chop down trees faster than your fists (will be explained later), and pickaxes are needed to mine stone and ores(iron, gold, etc). Now when you spawn in your new world, you end up with nothing but your hand. To make all your tools, you need sticks. So what do you do to get wood and sticks? You punch a tree! Hey, its a video game, not real life so dont say it makes no sense. Now when you punch the tree, you get wood which can be made into sticks and wooden planks. You use the planks to make a crafting table and make your tools. A crafting table is used to make most of your items. Wooden planks can also be used a building resourse for your house. Why must you make a house? To protect yourself from the monsters that come out at night. There are zombies, skeletons, and many more monsters that want your blood (Btw, there is no gore in Minecraft) . You need torches also, because monsters will stay away from the light. The next day, you can go mining for ores like iron and diamonds to improve your tools. You can slowly improve your items and expand your possibilities. That is Minecraft.
There are three different gamemodes in Minecraft. Survival, which is the gamemode I just explained. Creative, which all your resources all handed to you and you are invinsible. Hardcore, which you only have one life. Whenever you die in survival, you can come back to life. In hardcore if you die, you must delete your world. In Survival, you have 4 different modes you can play in. Easy, Normal, and Hard are modes where monsters come out and try to kill you. But there is a gamemode called peaceful, where there are no monsters.
Alright, that is all I can explain about Minecraft. To find out more, type in Minecraft in your search engine. There are plenty of videos and articles about Minecraft. So what’s my thoughts about it? It’s a great game to me and I love it. I especially like the creative freedom it gives the player, as I said before. I also like theres no gore. So for me, this game is five stars. But of your a very no-nonsense, logical person, this game isn’t for you. This has been A Review by Jae. Thanks so much for reading.
